Steve jobs said, " people don't know what they want, you have to show them that they want it". probably its in a case when you are doing something really innovative, like changing the world thing. In normal case since it is a small impact, or a small problem you are trying to solve. But then we ask what problems do Games solve? why do people buy it? but then again it is a emotional problem of going away from reality which makes people buy games. It really depends on the problem you are targeting, you see games don't solve any real problem but hit an emotional problem which long existed.
